The District of Muskoka includes the Town of Huntsville, Township of Lake of Bays, Town of Bracebridge, Township of Muskoka Lakes, and Township of Georgian Bay.
In all, it encompasses over 2,500 square miles.  Colloquially known as “cottage country,” the region welcomes over 2 million visitors each year.  Muskoka is a scenic area sprinkled with picturesque villages and towns, 1,600 lakes, waterfront resorts, world-class golf courses and even a few private retreats for the rich and famous.

Muskoka’s ruggedly awe-inspiring topography is due to its foundation on the Canadian Shield, which is a dominant segment of Canada’s ecological identity.  Muskoka’s varied and scenic beauty makes it perhaps the most popular and recognized tourist destination in Canada.
